JOB DESCRIPTION: EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Executive Assistant (EA) provides administrative and operational support to the President of Open Eyes. The EA serves as the primary point of contact for the President and is the liaison between staff, field partners, donors, and the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate must possess strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills while exercising sound judgment. The EA must be able to work independently and proactively manage tasks and projects, sometimes with limited supervision. The EA must thrive in a mission-driven and relational ministry environment. As Open Eyes expands our global impact, the EA will gain valuable office experience with a fast growing ministry.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide comprehensive support to the President to ensure outstanding communication and responsiveness
  • Manage the team calendar, prioritize meetings and requests, organize travel logistics, and work closely with the office of the Chairman
  • Work with President and COO to manage project plans—both domestic and global—and keep the team moving toward goals and milestones
  • Support the President in scheduling and managing communications with major donors and church partnerships
  • Prepare and edit correspondence, presentations, reports, and memos
  • Work with the Communications Director to manage emails for the President
  • Complete expense reports and manage correspondence with vendors
  • Help organize meetings and events attended by the President
  • Manage communication between the President and field partners
  • Attend meetings with the President and capture notes and highlights, creating tasks for follow-up
  • Maintain systems for contact management, document management, and archiving
  • Create management dashboard reports for President and COO
  • Conduct preliminary research and analysis upon request
  • Answer phone calls and manage the office in Charlotte
  • Assist in other administrative tasks as needed

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Follower of Jesus Christ
  • Adherence to the Open Eyes statement of faith
  • At least 2 years of related administrative experience
  • Ability to interact well with people from diverse theological perspectives and cultures
  • Familiarity with non-profit or ministry environment
  • Passion for the mission of Open Eyes: delivering the Gospel of Jesus Christ to unreached and under-served people groups around the world
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational skills with commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good judgment and ability to function independently
  • Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacy

 

 

COMPENSATION AND LOCATION

This is a full-time position with normal working office hours based in Charlotte, NC. Salary is commensurate with experience; full benefits package offered.
