What’s next for us? We’re glad you asked.
We have big plans for 2023—mostly, we aim to see more lives transformed: lives like Mara’s.
Mara lived in a small Syrian town with her husband—until he decided to enlist in the army to serve his country. He left when their son was only four months old.
When Mara’s husband died in the war, she was left with nothing. So when her parents decided to flee to Lebanon, she and her baby went with them. Across the border, she found Izdihar, our partner in the Bekaa Valley for the Lebanon Life Center. She joined the sewing program, studied hard, and always kept the memory of her precious husband.
Now Mara is on staff at the center. Her son is 11 years old and loves to sing about Jesus.
“You not only helped me find myself. You helped me restore my soul and find a vocation—and real joy in Jesus. Even living in a tent and being poor, I am so proud to be his daughter.”
2023 will be a big year for Open Eyes. In addition to breaking ground on the James Harrison Life Center in Namanga, here’s what’s ahead for us!
- Launching the Mobile Messenger ministry in new countries — Iraq, Sri Lanka, Argentina, and Bolivia.
- Expanding the ministry footprint in India, Nepal, and East Africa.
- Traveling to South Korea, Mexico, Kenya, and Nepal to meet with leaders and hear what’s happening on the mission field firsthand.
- And much more!
