Although Christianity in the region of South Asia dates back to the 1st century and the ministry of the Apostle Thomas, this region lags behind most of the world in seeing a sizable percentage of the population become Christian.

Over a billion people are hidden from hearing the Gospel in South Asia. However, they are hungry to hear the truth and there are open doors to plant healthy, reproducing churches. There is a need to empower the local church & indigenous believers to raise up leaders so we will see multiplication happen. As a result, many who have never heard will hear the message of salvation.

Today, the South Asian governments have expanded efforts to challenge the growth of Christianity. Christians are being targeted and persecuted at an unprecedented rate.

Despite the persecution, the harvest is plentiful, and the Lord is moving mightily in South Asia. There are thousands of disciples who are mobilized and ready to be sent to the unreached communities. Open Eyes sent 785 Mobile Messengers with a mission to reach the unreached areas. These Messengers are prayerful, passionate for Jesus, hardworking, and dedicated to the Gospel. When they are sent and equipped with Biblical training through the support of our donors, their potential increases exponentially. The Messengers begin by reaching the unreached communities, visiting homes, praying with the needy, sharing the Gospel, and gathering new believers in the house churches that eventually grow into sustainable, transformational community churches. To accelerate the process, Open Eyes equips the Messengers with training, transportation, and care to reach many communities.

Open Eyes is currently working in 5 Areas of South Asia bringing the Gospel to many, seeing thousands of people come to the Lord, & planting churches in over 2,000 communities. In the midst of increased religious persecution, there is tremendous hunger among many people groups for the Gospel. God is raising up a multitude of disciples who are accelerating the message of Christ in the most unreached places. We are grateful for your partnership in faith to bring the hope of Christ to many.
