“and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.”
2 Timothy 2:2
What a joy it is to be a part of something that Jesus simply commands us to do. He tells us to “Go, and make disciples of all nations..” A disciple is a “disciplined one” and as a Christian, we are to be disciplined in the way we follow Christ. We do this so we are able to disciple others in the way. The importance of that command is a high priority in the life of a believer. That is one of our tasks, apart from bringing people to Christ, to disciple the people God puts in our path as we walk with Him. How are we to do that? Paul tells Timothy to teach the Gospel to faithful people who then will be able to teach others. The answer is to teach them by the way we live in Christ. Our actions. The purpose of discipleship training is to allow these faithful people to raise up the next generation of disciples to go and disciple others. Jesus says that “You shall know them by their fruit” and this fruit is worthy of the Gospel.
Training is a piece of the puzzle we invest in our Mobile Messengers. With the outcome of Giving Tuesday, we were able to further our training in the lives of faithful people in East Africa. This is such a positive response to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. God rewards obedience. God bless all who gave as a part of Giving Tuesday.
