The Nuba people live in one of the most remote and inaccessible places in Sudan. Their lives have been shaped by their country’s decades-long civil war, and they have endured hunger, loss, persecution, and more pain than many of us will ever experience. In its attempts to Islamicize Sudan, the Sudanese government systematically burned down churches and destroyed Christian villages in areas where the Nuba live.

Morris is an Open Eyes Mobile Messenger working among the Nuba. When he reported that the people had very few Bibles, even though many of them were Christians, Open Eyes donors responded quickly and provided funding.

Nuba believers who had never owned a Bible wept with joy and danced. Now the Gospel can reach even farther into these areas.
